1. The Dark Hedges
This beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. It is one of my favorite locations in Ireland and a perfect spot to catch the sunrise. The best times of the year to explore this place are the in-between seasons in May and August / September as you have the highest chances to experience some low-hanging fog from the meadows around. But also in the other seasons, this place is a must-visit and has its special character all year round.

2. Downpatrick Head
Now a Signature Discovery Point on the famed Wild Atlantic Way, the area provides unparalleled views of the ocean, including a unique vantage point over the Stags of Broadhaven. A majestic sea stack rises tower-like from the sea, with its centuries of layered rock providing shelter to thousands of nesting sea birds.

3. Giant’s Causeway
Flanked by the wild Atlantic Ocean and a landscape of dramatic cliffs, for centuries the Giant’s Causeway has inspired artists, stirred scientific debate and captured the imagination of all who see it.
Visit Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site and learn how the Causeway was formed with one of our award-winning storytellers by booking Visitor Experience tickets.

4. Gougane Barra
An area of wild and beautiful scenery, this magnificent Forest Park covers over 137 splendid hectares (339 acres). It is tucked in a lush valley at the edge of the Sheehy mountains, the ideal place to hike, get in touch with nature, picnic and inhale the fresh air.

5. Kerry
Experience County Kerry and its gloriously moody landscapes, dramatic headlands and crashing waves. You’ll remember the roar of the ocean long after your visit.Discover charming towns and villages with brightly painted houses, traditional pubs, colourful shopfronts and an endless amount of places to visit in Kerry. Travel the curving country roads and narrow mountains paths of this stunning county. Book a break to Kerry, you’ll soon understand why it’s christened The Kingdom.
